For me it needs a core loop that's fun on its own from week one, plus a server that won't get wiped. If the first month feels like a full game, I'd take the gamble.

Overview
What's a website from before 2005 you still miss?
Mine is the era of tiny personal homepages with guestbooks and hit counters. Nobody was optimizing anything, people just made pages about whatever they liked. I've been collecting those kinds of small sites and built a little browser for wandering through them: https://culdesac.site Curious what everyone else…
Sorry for the slow reply! By hand, one at a time, mostly small personal sites I stumble into myself. Suggestions are very welcome, drop one here and I'll take a look.
For me it'd need a public roadmap and a clear promise that progress carries over to full release. Without the second one, a year of early access feels like paying to beta test.
What browser game from the 2000s do you still think about?
Mine is the endless pile of Flash games on school computers, the ones you could finish in a lunch break and still wanted one more go. I've been building a tiny daily one to chase that feeling, Salvage Run (https://salvage.run), a new map every day. What's the one you'd bring back?
Salvage Run, a small browser game where you scavenge a new map every day: https://salvage.run
Feedback I'd love: does the first run make sense without any instructions, or do you bounce off it in the first 30 seconds?
Remember StumbleUpon? This is my take on it
Small personal sites, one at a time, all picked by hand? What's the last site you found by accident?
