Anoncracy respects copyright and responds to notices of alleged infringement under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.

How to send a notice

Send copyright notices and counter-notices through Report a problem, signed in or not, with the details below and an email address for our reply.

What a notice must include

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. The copyrighted work you say is infringed.
  3. The link to each post, comment or image on Anoncracy you want removed, precise enough for us to find it.
  4. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.

We remove or disable the material, tell the member who posted it and send them a copy of the notice with your contact details removed where the law allows.

Counter-notices

If your content was removed by mistake or misidentified, you can send us a counter-notice with your signature, the removed material and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake, your name, address and telephone number, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, outside the US, any judicial district where Anoncracy may be found) and to accept service from the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell us within 10 to 14 business days that they have filed a court action, we restore it.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe copyright. Knowingly false notices or counter-notices can make the sender liable for damages.
