An early public beta
Communities belong to their members.
Find a conversation worth having. Anoncracy is a forum where members elect their moderators and moderation has a public record. Use a username, share what interests you, and help shape a community from the beginning.

This is an early public beta. We have no planned account or content reset.
1. Find a conversation
What would make a Reddit alternative worth coming back to? Start with the community’s open discussion, or browse for a topic you like. You can read public discussions without an account.
Browse communities2. Add your voice
Create an account and verify your email to post, reply and vote. Read a community’s rules before you post. Use Save draft to keep an unfinished post after closing the browser.
3. Help your community govern itself
A new community’s founder is its caretaker until elected moderators take over. Its first election can open after one week, once enough members qualify. Members fill three seats by ranked choice. Registration for the next regular election opens 90 days after the previous result.
Election voting normally requires a 14-day-old account and seven days of community membership when nominations open. Candidates normally need a 30-day-old account and 14 days of membership by the scheduled start of voting. The first ordinary election waives account-age requirements, with membership requirements, verified email and account standing still applying. Political communities also have side requirements. Each community’s election page shows your eligibility.

A few things to know
Posts and comments are public. Spoiler labels cover the body and media until you reveal them; titles stay visible. NSFW content is available only to signed-in members who are 18 or older. Eligible members can choose Hide, Blur or Show in Settings.
Hide posts, mute communities or block accounts to control what reaches you. Blocking also stops new direct messages in either direction. Undo these choices in Settings → Privacy and safety → Hidden, muted and blocked.
Community bans last at most 30 days and can be appealed. They never take away your vote. Only site admins can suspend someone from the whole site.
